Today, was a blend of browns and cream, with the occasional block of black. I had to remove three or four of the jackdaws several times this morning. They scare off everything else, except the wood pigeon of course, although the other birds seem to have learnt not to go too far, because they return to the grass before the jackdaws are over the school roof…starlings, sparrows, siskins and blackbirds…the adult blackbird was chasing off a grown fledgling. I think it was the same bird that lost a beakful of feathers yesterday.
Spikey hadn’t finished his hedgehog meal, so I tipped it out onto the paving next to the water tray and the blackbird finished it off.
